The scheme of examination of B.D.S. course is divided into 5 professional examinations, viz., I B.D.S. examination at the end of 1st year class, II at the end of 2nd year class, III at the end of 3rd year class, IV at the end of 4th year class and V BDS examination at the end of the fifth year BDS class.

University examinations are held twice in a year, commencing in the month of February and August.

The examination is open to candidates who have satisfied the requirement of attendance, progress and conduct as stipulated by the university. Certificate to the above effect should be produced from the Head of the Institution by the candidate along with the application for examination.
